I’m an artist working primarily in painting and drawing. My work is influenced by the written word and I have made a number of series which draw inspiration from particular works of literature, the most notable of which is a set of 48 paintings which take for their starting point T.S. Eliot’s poems, Four Quartets.

Having moved from Wiltshire to West Yorkshire earlier this year, I am currently working on the preparations for a new series of work which explores the landscape of the North and British literature.

My work is regularly exhibited in galleries and open exhibitions across the UK, and is included in private collections in the US, Australia, France and Britain, including the private collection at Kensington Palace.

I’m also a published writer with an academic background in literature, philosophy and the history of thought and ideas. My academic articles, journalism and book chapters have been published in the UK and abroad. You can read my blog about art, literature and culture over at The Carington Press.
