Four Quartets

A series of paintings based on T.S. Eliot’s ‘Four Quartets’, which is the title given to a collection of four poems, ‘Burnt Norton,’ ‘East Coker,’ ‘The Dry Salvages,’ and ‘Little Gidding.’ The series consists of 48 paintings (12 for each of the four poems) and each painting takes a quotation from the poem as its title. In making these works, I have blended inspiration from real landscape with the meaningfulness behind the words and what these extraordinary poems have meant to me at different times in my life. All of the pieces can be seen below. Please contact me at annabelcarington@gmail.com if you require further information on this series, would like to purchase one of the paintings, or need images/quotes for press. Alternatively, give me a call on 07917 125378.

You can hear me reading the poems against the backdrop of my paintings on YouTube.
